An interesting New York Times article on the Sony PS3 game console.  The subtext is that while significantly more impressive games are possible with the PS3, it has been more of a challenge to develop software for this console compared to similar machines from Microsoft and Nintendo.   Presumably this is because of the Sony / Toshiba / IBM Cell Brodband Engine device at the heart of the PS3.  Sony has been behind the curve, but appears to be taking software more seriously:  Can Sony Revitalize Its Games?
